Smaller batteries, lighter frames, more specific motor systems; today's eMTB customer requirements are becoming increasingly diverse. In order to be able to cover these requirements, DT Swiss has split the range and created this new category. Bike manufacturers are developing increasingly specific and, above all, lighter models that can be realised through different approaches. DT Swiss has taken a closer look at the requirements of these lightweight eMTBs and found that the stress/strain is still above the "normal" MTB stresses, although the system weight remains almost the same. The approval of a lower system weight opens up new possibilities for their wheel engineers to combine the durability of HYBRID wheels with the well-known light weight of DT Swiss products.
Tubeless Technology
Tubeless tyres offer some decisive advantages over the conventional combination of tyre and tube: The tyre can be driven with less pressure without risking snakebites and offers more grip. The lower pressure also increases ride comfort. The absence of the tube means that there is no friction between the tube and the tyre and therefore less rolling resistance when driving off-road and over obstacles. If tubeless milk is also used, the tyre is also immune to punctures and small cuts. A big advantage for all those who like to travel long distances and away from the nearest bike shop.
Tubeless Ready rims from DT Swiss have further advantages over conventional rims. Thanks to the design of their cross-section, the tyre simply pops into place when inflated, so that usually only a normal stand pump is needed. The ingenious profile of the DT Swiss rims also ensures a precise and secure fit for the tyre, even under tough driving conditions.
RATCHET SYSTEM Technology
The patented freewheel system with high-precision toothed pulleys guarantees maximum load capacity and reliability. Thanks to the no-tool concept, the system is very easy and quick to maintain.
