The Cinder MIPS offers all the functions that an enthusiastic road rider could want from a light helmet.
The design is inspired by the classic aesthetics of Giro's premium Synthe helmet. The most important features are the Roc Loc 5 Fit system, which allows vertical adjustment of the helmet with only one hand. Air FX padding provides comfort on longer rides. The helmet is equipped with MIPS to divert impact energy and provide more protection in certain situations.
With In-Mould construction, the robust polycarbonate outer shell is bonded to the impact-absorbing EPS inner shell in a single operation during foaming. This way, the helmet becomes even more resistant, without making it weigh more. This production process also makes significantly better ventilation systems and openings possible. Compared to traditional helmets, In-Mold helmets are therefore lighter and have significantly better ventilation.
MIPS is a sliding plane system within the helmet designed to slow or prevent the amount of energy transmitted to or from the head.
Roc Loc 5 Fit System
The new benchmark for fitting systems is undoubtedly the Roc Loc 5. The adjustment mechanism is in a mini housing, meaning size adjustment can be easily done in small increments with two fingers. In addition, the system can be adjusted in height to ensure a perfect fit of the helmet.
Wind Tunnel Ventilation
Wind tunnel ventilation is Giro's own system of internal ducts and active ventilation openings that direct cool and fresh air over and around your head, forcing out exhausting heat and stale air. A difference you can see and feel - on every ride.
SL Roll Cage
The Thermoformed SL Polycarbonate Roll Cage is 49% lighter than conventional composite reinforcements, offering outstanding stability. Thanks to the new SL Roll Cage, 15% less compressed EPS foam can also be used, which in turn reduces the weight without sacrificing safety.
