Carbon OMR
The OMR frames (Orbea Monocoque Race) are the only ones that combine high modulus fibers with high strength fibers. The prepreg sheets of pre-impregnated carbon are cut with lasers to minimize the excess before a lengthy process of preforming to achieve optimum compaction with the least amount of material. Thanks to the mold made entirely of expanded polystyrene (EPS), wrinkles and voids are avoided.
Asymmetric - Strength
The right-side support consolidates and stiffens an area subject to high stress. Rather than using a less effective "shock tunnel," Occam's structure diverts the shock to the left side of the frame, allowing the asymmetrical support to take a more direct path. This straight line following the shock structure is the most effective way to neutralize the suspension forces in the front triangle.
Asymmetric - ergonomics and balance
The asymmetrical offset design brings unique advantages beyond stiffness and weight savings. The shock is mounted in such a way that its adjustments are surprisingly easy to reach, and the small dimensions leave enough space for an easily accessible water bottle.
