BL-M9120 Brake Lever Based on a brake system which was already the benchmark for mountain bike brakes, SHIMANO engineers revised the design of the new brake levers (BL-M9100/9120). Both the clamp and the lever itself have been modified. The clamp angled moves further to the lever's centre. This cleverly supports the outer end of the reservoir tank on the handlebar and thereby provides a further abutment for lever actuation. This significantly increases stiffness and stability, which ultimately leads to an even more direct brake feedback and improved controllability. The two-piston brake (BR-M9100) is combined with a light XC brake lever, whose reach is of course adjustable to fit individual requirements. The four-piston brake (BR-M9120) unleashes its immense potential in combination with a special SERVO-WAVE brake lever (BL-M9120), whose reach can also be adjusted without tools and which also allows to adjust free travel. Both calipers are contructed as a one-piece aluminum design and are paired with highly rigid brake hoses, allowing the new XTR brake systems to score with significantly quicker response and less free travel.
BR-M9100 Brake Caliper The new hydraulic brake caliper in two-piston version is contructed in a one-piece aluminium construction. It offers 30% lower required braking force, lever travel and reaction time than the previous model while also saving weight. Low effort and linear braking response increase the rider's confidence.
Shimano XTR M9100 Built on 27 years of MTB innovations, the new XTR targets the highest demanding XC, Enduro and Marathon riders. Looking to push boundaries, even on those insanely demanding courses nowadays? The new XTR is jam-packed with every advantage you’ll need to get the job done. Heck, it’ll even inspire you to turn yourself inside out while doing it. Shimano's engineers have been working very hard the last 27 years, since they came out with the first ever MTB groupset. The new XTR is solid proof of this. Redesigned from the bottom up, it is by far the most advanced MTB groupset on the market. It’s lighter, smoother, more durable and versatile. It’s also extremely efficient in transferring all pedal-pounding watts into ground speed.
